Kaieteur News- Dem boys always seh, “Do suh nah like suh,” but some people never learn. Dem love to laugh when people fall down, but when dem tumble, is a national tragedy. Yuh see de same man who laugh when he neighbor gat problems? De next week, he get more problems than he can handle.
Dem got one fella who used to mock he friend when he bicycle get thief. “Yuh shoulda chain it to yuh waist,” he tell de man, laughing till he belly hurt. But two days later, when somebody disappear wid he car battery, he start hollering like a soprano in de choir.
Dem boys seh yuh must be careful how yuh laugh at people, because karma does keep receipts. Yuh laugh when yuh coworker get lock out he own house, but next week, yuh key lost and yuh sleeping in de dog kennel. Yuh joke when yuh cousin get a bad haircut, but next time yuh barber turn yuh into a porcupine.
Some people believe dem invincible. Dem seh, “Not me, I untouchable!” But life is a great equalizer—today yuh laughing, tomorrow yuh looking for sympathy. So next time yuh see somebody in distress, instead of giggling like a hyena, lend a hand. Or at least, pretend to feel sorry till yuh reach round de corner.
And remember, who de cap fit, let dem wear it… but make sure it not too tight, because head swelling with pride does make yuh drop faster!
